Jolanta Komornicka is an indexer, editor, and proofreader. Prior to entering the publishing world, she was an assistant professor of medieval history. She currently serves as the co-president of the Indexing Society of Canada/Société canadienne d’indexation and as co-chair of the KWG Twig of Editors Canada. Some of the most fun indexing projects have been a book on the X-Men and a history of Veracruz in the 17th-18th centuries. This fall, she’ll be offering a course on indexing through Library Juice Academy.

Alex was president of the Indexing Society of Canada / Société Canadienne d’indexation for seven years and now is happily past president. Among the memorable works she has indexed are several volumes of the Truth and Reconciliation Report, a book about how laundry is done at long-term care facilities and what that shows about neoliberalism, and a collection of cake recipes.
