AI hasn’t eliminated the need for human editors—but it has shifted who values us most. In this webinar, veteran academic editor Catie Phares will show you exactly which clients still invest in editing, why they do it, and how to reach them. You’ll leave this session with a clear picture of your ideal clients and a plan for targeting them. Making six figures and beyond as a freelance editor isn’t about luck or fantasy: it’s about customer strategy, even in the age of AI.

We’ll discuss

-why some editors are seeing unprecedented demand right now.

-the kinds of clients who still value human expertise.

-how to frame and market your value for those right-fit clients.

-how to use AI (or not) to help you strategize and market your services.

Whether you’re an independent editor or part of an in-house team, you’ll leave with practical strategies and an empowered mindset for standing firm in your value amid the AI hype. This session will follow up on some of the themes mentioned in Catie’s previous two Editors Canada webinars on AI.
